HT is an interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, whose aim is to develop innovative strategies to promote human health through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational and structural biology and neuroscience, as well as data and decision sciences. The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.

The Soskic group, within the Population and Medical Genomics Program, uses a wide range of immunological and genomic assays to study B cell biology, antibody diversity and variation in the human immune system in health and disease. We are looking for a highly-motivated person with wide interests in immunogenomics and B cell biology.

The successful candidate will report to Dr. Blagoje Soskic.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design, performance and analysis of experiments to dissect the mechanisms of B cell activation and antibody diversification;
  • Analysis and interpretation of multimodal sequencing datasets (including scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, long-read sequencing technologies);
  • Generating and recording data, protocols and/or codes for publication;
  • Publishing reproducible research;
  • Interacting and supporting other group members;
  • Sharing and discussing research results with collaborators;
  • Presenting scientific results in international meetings.

Job requirements:

Mandatory requirements:

  • PhD in genomics, immunology, or genetics (or expected to complete the degree in the next 6 months);
  • Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute.

Preferred requirements:

  • Experience with high-throughput sequencing data;
  • Good knowledge of R or Python;
  • Experience with B cell biology;
  • Broad technical and scientific understanding of immunology and genomics.
