We are seeking a highly motivated and creative candidate with a strong background and interest in neuro-immunological processes and neurodevelopmental disorders for a Post-Doctoral fellowship to join the “Genetics of Cognition” Research Line.
Previous expertise in flow cytometry and cell sorting, immune system, astrocytes and microglia functioning, or single cells sequencing are highly valued prerequisite.
The successful candidate will be working on collaborative and multidisciplinary research projects to investigate the functional interplay between the peripheral and brain immune system, and its impact on altered developmental trajectories evident in specific copy number variants microdeletion syndromes with high penetrance in the development of schizophrenia and/or autism (e.g. 22q11.2, 16p11.2). Parallel studies in human patients will also be performed.
The candidate must have published at least a first-author paper and have a PhD or equivalent degree in Immunology, Pharmacology, Statistics, Medicine, Neuroscience, Genetics, Bioengineering, Physics or comparable fields. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required. Applicants are expected to have a strong research track record and to be highly independent.
