Within the Department of Precision Health, Dr. Torsten Bohn, Head of the Nutrition & Health Research Group (NUTRIHEALTH), aims, in collaboration with his team, to explore dietary patterns, their (non)nutrient composition and their association to chronic conditions, e.g. metabolic syndrome and related aspects. An important focus is the relation of diet to public health and associated innovative biomarkers of dietary intervention, such as oxidative stress, body composition, micronutrients, and phytochemicals. A close collaboration with the other departmental teams around environmental pollution, physical activity, and e-health exists.
For a project related to obesity prevention and cardiometabolic health, we are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow (m/f/d) to participate in research on biomarkers targeting obesity prevention on one hand, and on the other hand, aid in the conduction of intervention trials that target obesity prevention through a multi-portfolio approach, encompassing diet, physical activity, and psychological aspects.
The work will be carried out in the background of a large international EU project (HealthyW8) with 24 partners. In the frame of this work, the postdoc will benefit from the local expertise of Dr. Torsten Bohn in nutrition and health, and Dr. Farhad Vahid in nutritional epidemiology. Statistical support and support for conducting clinical trials in-house are available.
