Applications are open for a Three-years fellowship founded by the Worldwide Cancer Research to study Selective inhibitors against NEDD4 family members in the research group of Molecular Machines in Signaling Pathways lead by Simona Polo at IFOM - FIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology in Milan, Italy.

HECT E3 ligases of the NEDD4 family are sensors of cellular stimuli and stresses and coordinate the ubiquitin network in response to various signaling pathways. We have unveiled their mechanism of catalysis and identified selective inhibitors that we are currently optimizing in collaboration with the Experimental therapeutics Program at IFOM.

We are interested in recruiting ambitious, self-motivated and team-oriented scientist with a PhD in life sciences, a solid background in molecular and/or cancer biology. Candidates should have a substantial laboratory experience, a systematic approach to problem solving and good writing skills. Excellent spoken and written English is required. A proven track record of productivity with at least one first author paper published in a high-impact international peer-reviewed journal is an essential requirement.
