Applications are invited to fill the position of postdoctoral researcher under the funded project titled as “Large-scale climate neutral Energy Geostructures in District Heating & Cooling systems/networks (LEG-DHC)”. This CETPartnership project (co-funded by EU) includes 15 partners consisting of 8 Universities and public institutions and 7 private companies.
The aim of LEG-DHC project is to boost the development of Energy GeoStructure (EGS) technology and to evaluate its integration into district heating and cooling systems. The upscaled geothermal energy technology will be integrated with other renewable energy resources, green buildings and greenhouse gas reduction strategies to create next generation zero emission thermal networks. In this project, TalTech's contribution is focused on GIS model development, space analysis and data arrangement and collection. The selected candidate will be stationed at Department of Energy Technology.
This postdoctoral researcher position will be focusing on the development of GIS simulation model to integrate 1) heating & cooling demand map, 2) hydrogeology & thermal properties map, temperature map, 3) geothermal energy source map, 4) other energy sources and storage, etc. and analysis of variable configurations for district heating, district cooling, as well as combined district heating and cooling systems, when geothermal heat is integrated.
We are looking for a motivated candidate to join the project aimed to investigate integration of non-conventional heat sources into district heating and cooling systems.
The postdoctoral researcher participates in the department's research and development work and teaching work in accordance with the requirements of the Academic Career Management of Tallinn University of Technology.
The qualification must meet the requirements of the Academic Career Management of Tallinn University of Technology.
