KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • conducting the high-level scientific research in the scope of histology and embryology of animals, in accordance with the principles included in the “Strategy of the University of Silesia in Katowice”
  • preparing scientific publications and publishing them in the renowned international scientific journals
  • participation in scientific conferences
  • teaching classes (in Polish and English) in the scope of histology, anatomy, and embryology of animals
  • applying for the financing of projects at the National Science Centre programmes and for funding from other external sources, including the international sources
  • participation in the realization of scientific projects and research-development works conducted by the Animal Histology and Embryology Team of the Institute of Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Protection
  • realization of organizational duties in accordance with the Individual Assignment of Duties

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • minimum PhD degree in the discipline of biological sciences or in the related discipline
  • experience in conducting research in the discipline of biological sciences
  • recent high-scoring scientific achievements in the scope of histology and ultrastructure of animal cells, including the papers of which the candidate is the first author or the correspondence author
  • experience in managing and realization of the scientific projects, documented history of applying for the financing of research in the institutions in candidate’s country or abroad
  • documented scientific internships
  • practical knowledge of the methods and techniques used in histological, embryological, and immunohistochemical research, documented by publications
  • practical knowledge of research and methods of analysis of the animal cells and tissues, including the ability to operate transmission electron microscope, fluorescence microscope, and flow cytometer
  • participation in the scientific conferences in the country and abroad (ability to present the research results to the public)
  • experience in teaching classes in the scope of histology, embryology or histological, histochemical, and immunohistochemical techniques in the higher education institution,
  • experience in knowledge popularization
  • experience in conducting classes using the tools for distance learning
  • command of English that allows for teaching classes
  • command of Polish that allows for conducting classes or readiness to learn Polish (in the case of foreign candidates)
