IRAM is seeking a highly motivated and skilled astronomer to work within the NOEMA Science Operations Group at IRAM headquarters (Grenoble). Applicants must have at least three years of postdoctoral experience, a proven track record of scientific research and observational and operational experience with single-dish radio telescopes and/or radio interferometers. The successful candidate will join a team of highly skilled scientists and engineers and will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for astronomical research.
IRAM offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations and a stimulating work environment where scientists cover a whole range of research topics, encompassing ISM chemistry, planetary science, young stellar objects, late-stage stellar evolution, and extragalactic research spanning across low and high redshifts. IRAM expects the successful candidate to possess well-defined scientific interests, pursue scientific programs using the IRAM facilities, and invest up to 50% of the time on astronomical research.
The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be a team player. Experience in the operation of a radio-astronomical facility and working in an international research environment are highly valued.
