The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Lublin announces a competition for the full-time post of a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER at the Chair and Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Medical University of Lublin. The position is part of the project entitled "Parallel quantitative evaluation of targetability, cellular uptake, and intracellular drug release for the establishment of structure-activity relationships in nanomedicine", financed by the NCN (National Science Centre).
Work tasks:
- Carrying out the practical laboratory work described in the project and overseeing the day-to-day activities in the laboratory;
- Creating, cloning, and testing the different constructs;
- Analyzing and interpreting the data;
- Publishing research data from the project;
- Presenting the data in the lab's internal meetings and presenting the result of the project in national and international conferences;
- Attending courses to gain knowledge on how to analyze the scientific data as well as how to handle the different techniques needed for the project;
- Working in close collaboration with the PI and the team in Ulm University (Germany), as well as the rest of the PI's team and in some cases, with other members of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and other collaborators.
Candidates applying for the abovementioned post are required to have:
- PhD degree in Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Biomedicine (or related fields that could include Chemistry and Biophysics) at the time of signing the employment contract, obtained within 7 years before joining the project (possible extension of this period according to NCN regulation);
- Good practical and theoretical knowledge of molecular biology techniques;
- Experience in mammalian cell- or tissue-culture protocols, genetic engineering, and microscopy (confocal imaging, immuno-fluorescence);
- Bioinformatics skills is considered a strong asset;
- Experience with nanocarriers (nanoparticles, nanorods, etc.) is highly valuable;
- Great work capacity and enthusiasm for research;
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently;
- Fluency in spoken and written English. The working language is English. Abroad experience (for Polish applicants);
- Publications in refereed journals, postgraduates diplomas and previous funded grant applications will be considered as additional advantages.
Terms of employment:
- Full-time employment contract for a trial period of 6 months with the possibility to extend it for up to 3 years;
- Planned starting date: October/November 2022 - to be agreed with the candidate;
- Salary level 10.000 PLN gross-gross a month.

- The statement of the absence of direct reporting line;
- The statement of no criminal record;
- Certified copy of a doctor's diploma.
The abovementioned documents issued in a foreign language other than English should be translated into English or Polish.

Additional Information:
The best candidates will be invited for about 30 minutes job interview.
If more than one candidate meets the competition requirements, the Recruitment Committee may decide to recommend a candidate from the second position on the ranking list for candidates meeting the competition requirements, in case the chosen candidate resigns from establishing an employment relationship.
It is allowed to conclude the assessment process without selecting a candidate.

The open competition is in accordance with the rules defined by the National Science Centre for post-doc positions within OPUS 20+LAP project.
Terms:
Full-time remuneration for a post-doc may be funded provided that the person to be employed at the post meets the following conditions:
- Their PhD degree has been awarded by another institution than the one planned to employ them at this post;
- At the time of receiving remuneration, they will not be receiving any other remuneration paid from the funds granted to research projects under NCN calls under the heading of direct costs;
- In the period of receiving the remuneration they will be receiving no remuneration from another employer pursuant to an employment contract, including an employer with registered office outside of Poland.
