At the Institute of Earth Science at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the University of Graz is seeking to appoint a Tenure Track Professor for Sedimentary Geology.
The job advertisement is addressed to highly qualified early career researchers. The position will be responsible for the discipline “Sedimentary Geology” in research and teaching. Within the NAWI Graz Geocenter, collaborations with other disciplines and research groups working analytically (NAWI Graz Central Lab) are preferred.
Employment requirements:
- Austrian or equivalent foreign higher education degree corresponding with the position (doctorate/PhD) in the field of Sedimentary Geology;
- Outstanding academic qualifications in research and teaching in the relevant discipline and for the profile of the professorship (commensurate with stage of academic career);
- Several years of experience as post-doc or in a similar position;
- Skills in attracting subject-specific project grants;
- Skills in higher education didactics and online teaching;
- Gender mainstreaming skills;
- Excellent research record in Sedimentary Geology with a focus on clastic sediments and sedimentary basin analysis and/or basin dynamics and tectonics;
- Professional experience abroad during academic career;
- Good knowledge of German and English language;
- International experience in presenting papers and delivering lectures.

He/she will have demonstrated ability to collaborate constructively in a responsible manner and inspire colleagues and students in an interdisciplinary, internationally oriented context.
