In this project you will identify alternatives to the uses of persistent and mobile (PM) substances (including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)) and build an alternatives database in collaboration with other researchers. You will also carry out chemical alternative assessments for selected uses of PM substances and PFAS substances using existing and newly developed methods.
The employee will work in a team consisting of several senior researchers and three PhD students. The postdoctoral fellow would be part of a research group under the unit for "Contaminant Chemistry" led by Ian Cousins.
This postdoctoral project will be funded by the ZeroPM project. ZeroPM is a research project funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program that runs from October 2021 to October 2026. ZeroPM focuses on persistent and mobile substances. Many collaboration opportunities exist within the ZeroPM consortium.
The research will be desk based and the employee will; search and review the scientific literature, build an online database, conduct chemical alternative assessments and write research papers.
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
