Your tasks

• Management of all devices available in the Core Facility Genomics & Bioinformatics (CFGB);
• Quality management, including the assurance, review, and improvement of processes;
• Cost management, including the creation and maintenance of a service and price catalogue and the preparation of cost estimates;
• Personnel management/leadership of the staff assigned to the CFGB;
• Representation of the CFGB and participation in committees and boards as well as through presentations within and outside the University of Oldenburg;
• Prospectively: further development of the CFGB, including coordination of the expansion of the instrument and method portfolio.

Your profile

Required qualifications:

• Completed Academic University Degree (e.g. Diploma (University)/Master’s degree) in Biology and/or comparable fields;
• Completed Doctoral Degree in Natural Sciences and/or comparable fields;
• Several years of experience in performing high-throughput sequencing;
• Multiple scientific publications in the field of high-throughput sequencing;
• Experience in writing scientific publications and Grant applications;
• Proven experience as a workgroup/laboratory Leader;
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).

Preferred qualifications:

• Bioinformatics expertise in secondary and tertiary analysis of large-scale sequencing data;
• Experience with “3^rd generation” sequencing technologies;
• Experience in the establishment and validation of sequencing methods;
• Experience in participating in national or international sequencing projects;
• Project manager qualification according to §28 GenTSV for S1/S2 laboratories.
