This role is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in analytical chemistry and a particular interest in protein characterization. We are looking for individuals who are eager to broaden their experience, contribute to innovative projects, and develop their expertise across a wide range of analytical platforms. In this position, you will work with advanced analytical technologies, including a number of chromatographic techniques such as RP-HPLC, SEC-HPLC, or IEX-HPLC, combined with MS, UV, or MALS detectors, alongside orthogonal techniques including DLS and DSC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the daily activities of the Protein Analysis Team, utilizing basic workflows for protein characterization.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot LC-MS instrumentation to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Design, optimize, develop, validate and execute analytical methods (LC-MS, SEC-HPLC, IEX-HPLC, RP-HPLC, and others) for the characterization of therapeutic proteins.
  • Plan, perform, and document analytical and comparability studies of biologics in accordance with ICH guidelines, applying orthogonal analytical approaches where appropriate.
  • Prepare protein samples following established protocols, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Apply common proteomic assays and mass spectrometry-related laboratory techniques to support project objectives.
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets, preparing clear and comprehensive technical reports.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project teams to support timely and high-quality project delivery.

Your Background

  • MSC/Ph.D. degree in life sciences: biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, pharmacy, or related fields.
  • Strong theoretical understanding of protein structure and characterization, including PTMs, higher-order structure, stability, and aggregation.
  • Practical knowledge of sample preparation for various chromatographic and mass spectrometry-based workflows.
  • Theoretical knowledge of analytical separation techniques.
  • Knowledge of methods development and validation in the protein area is in plus.
  • Familiarity with set-up and data acquisition for global and targeted mass spectrometry approaches is in plus.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • High motivation with excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Communication and team working skills.
  • Strong desire to work in a challenging and hands-on environment.
