We are looking for a motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join Dr Herzog's laboratory at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, University of Cambridge, located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
You will play a central role in an exciting research programme focused on epigenetics and ageing, contributing to cutting-edge research involving innovative haematopoietic stem cell (HSC) cultures, gene editing, and the establishment of standardised workflows in close collaboration with our research partners. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the technical foundations of a growing research programme in stem cell biology and gene therapy within a collaborative and supportive research environment.
We are a friendly and supportive team, and we welcome candidates who enjoy technical challenges, take pride in careful and creative science, and are keen to grow and develop within an ambitious research programme.
The post is full-time but applications are welcome from those who would like to work flexibly.
An ideal candidate will have a degree in a biological science, experience primary cell culture, including stem or progenitor cells, as well as molecular biology techniques and CRISPR-based gene editing. You should have excellent organisational and record keeping skills, be able to prioritise and manage own workload and drive projects forward within agreed plans, as well as have strong written and oral communication skills.
