Postdoc in Developing AI/ML Workflows for Quantitative Analysis of Lipid Nanoparticles

Postdoc in Developing AI/ML Workflows for Quantitative Analysis of Lipid Nanoparticles

KTH - Royal Institute of Technology

Stockholm, Sweden

Job description

Quantitative analysis of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) using Cryo EM is challenging due to heterogenous samples, lack of training data and sample variability. In this project we aim to develop AI/ML workflows for improved quantitative analysis of LNPs. Your responsibilities will include optimisation of data collection parameters for automated analysis pipelines; developing, optimising and implementing AI/ML workflows and validating analysis using physico chemical approaches. The research will be in close collaboration with experimental LNP PhD/PostDoc projects in the Barriga Lab and with M. Carroni at the Cryo EM facility SciLifeLab. Other responsibilities may include teaching, supervision and contributions to collaborative projects/grant writing.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made
  • Documented expertise using AI/ML approaches (neural networks)
  • Documented expertise of advanced image analysis (e.g. classification, quantitative analysis)
  • Experience supervising/co-supervising Masters/PhD students
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary collaboration and teamwork
  • Evidence of ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate (written, spoken) in English as it is required for day to day work

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Experience working with Cryo EM
  • Experience working with lipid nanoparticles
  • Experience working with small angle scattering
  • Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues (specific focus on gender equality)
