As a Scientist, you will take on complex research tasks with significant autonomy. You will drive projects independently, contribute to the unit’s growth, and build a focused, internationally visible research profile.
Your future tasks include:
Drive innovation in analog/mixed-signal (AMS) IC design for quantum applications
Design and layout of analog building blocks (e.g., LDOs, bandgaps, DACs, ADCs) including verification, testing, and characterization
Perform hands-on lab measurements using equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers
Lead and contribute to research projects, including publishing high-quality scientific papers or patents
Represent SAL at international conferences and expand the scientific network
Project management and acquisition in collaboration with scientific and industrial partners
Supervise and mentor students, interns, and junior team members
Support knowledge transfer through training and internal collaboration
Ensure successful project execution with a focus on customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships
Your profile:
A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
At least 3-5 years experience with schematic and layout circuit design tools
Knowledge about analog design circuits such as ADC and DAC
Strong knowledge about analog circuits like amplifiers, LDO, bandgap, current sources
Hands-on experience with FPGA design
Programming skills with Python, HDL (Verilog or VHDL)
HDL coding for ASIC integration is a plus
Autonomous, with self-initiative (research oriented), well organized and enjoying working in a dynamic and multicultural team
Professional communication skills in English, command of German language is a plus
Willingness to relocate to Villach, Austria
