Your tasks

• Planning, setup, conducting and analysis of physics and biology experiments, in particular at the Dresden proton therapy facility;
• Supervision of graduation theses (Bachelor, Master, PhD);
• Teaching within the master program Medical Radiation Sciences including the radiation protection modules;
• Acquisition of third-party funding (independent and contributory).

Your profile

• Completed PhD in the field of Physics, Medical Physics or related discipline;
• Relevant professional experience in the specified area;
• Excellent knowledge in radiation and medical physics, in particular acceleration, transport, detection and interaction of particle beams with matter;
• Very good experimental skills and substantial practical experience in irradiation and dosimetry, preferably with proton beam;
• Strong interest in multidisciplinary and translational research and interest in radiation protection;
• Knowledge in radiation protection and radiation biology is a plus;
• Ability to work independently, efficiently, goal-oriented and proactive;
• Ability to work as a part of an international team;
• High motivation and personal commitment;
• Experience with Monte Carlo simulation codes is a plus;
• Excellent English skills.
