We are seeking exceptional candidates for a postdoc in the Soft Matter group at the University of Amsterdam, under the supervision of Daniel Bonn. This fully funded experimental project aims at deepening our understanding of physical mechanisms involved in, e.g., liquid sprays, emulsions and solid friction, with applications in pharmaceuticals, food industry, agriculture and semiconductors.

This is what you will do

You will carry experimental work in the lab, from bibliographical research, setup and protocol design to data analysis. We ask you to become independent by taking initiatives and developing you own creative ideas. We also ask you to take an active role in group activities, which includes presenting your work at our weekly group meeting and ensuring that the lab equipment remains in good conditions.

What we ask of you

• You have a recent PhD degree in physics or related field;
• You have excellent communication skills in oral and written English;
• You have good coding skills for data analysis;
• You have a creative, curious and driven nature;
• You have strong initiative and good time management skills.
