Your Responsibilities

  • Completing the development agreement with objectives in research, teaching and administration;
  • Independent research and publication activities in the field of modeling and numerical methods in medical applications;
  • Coordination, proactive development and deepening of biomedical collaborations in Graz and internationally;
  • Supporting the working groups at the institute in projects in the field of PDE-based modeling and simulation in medical applications;
  • Independent teaching of courses as well as cooperation in teaching and examination tasks of the institute;
  • Cooperation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures.

Your Profile

  • Completed doctorate/PhD in the field of mathematics or a related field;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
  • German language skills, both spoken and written, or willingness to learn German within two years;
  • Very strong expertise in modeling, model reduction and numerical methods for cardiovascular electrophysiological and mechanical applications using patient-specific data;
  • Very strong expertise in the theory and application of Physics Informed Neural Networks to inverse problems;
  • Expertise in sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification for digital twins;
  • Enjoyment of scientific work and working with students;
  • Independent and autonomous working style;
  • International mobility, high degree of personal responsibility and ability to cooperate with national and international working groups in biomedical applications;
  • Engagement in initiatives to support women in science;
  • Significant contribution to the successful acquisition of third-party funding.
