Within our Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented scientist to join us in the role of Scientist/Junior Scientist - Bioanalysis (m/f).

Key Responsibilities

The Bioanalytical team within DMPK plays a central role in evaluating test compounds by delivering quantitative and qualitative data for both in vitro and in vivo studies, along with physicochemical characterization across a range of modalities. The team develops and applies LC-MS/MS methods, performs sample preparation and analysis, and interprets results to support scientific decision-making. We continuously improve workflows through automation, efficient sample extraction techniques and rapid LC-MS methodologies to ensure timely and reliable data delivery.

  • Develop, optimize and apply LC-MS/MS and LC/UV methods for bioanalysis of small molecules and peptides
  • Prepare and analyze biological samples, ensuring data quality and compliance with study requirements
  • Interpret analytical data and contribute to scientific conclusions and project decisions
  • Generate, analyze and interpret high-quality data to support in vitro and in vivo studies
  • Troubleshoot analytical methods, experimental procedures and instrumentation as needed
  • Support assay development, optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure the scientific integrity of studies through careful documentation and review
  • Contribute to daily laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and adherence to safety standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and deliver high-quality results
  • Engage in continuous learning and development of technical and scientific expertise

Your Background

  • Graduate degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, chemical technology, pharmacy or biotechnology
  • Experience with LC-MS/MS or a strong foundation in analytical techniques (training in LC-MS/MS can be provided)
  • Hands-on experience with sample preparation techniques such as protein precipitation, solid-phase or liquid-liquid extraction is an advantage
  • Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project)
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and a structured approach to work
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
