We are seeking a research assistant to join Oskar Eriksson’s research group at the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology. The group’s research focuses on translational studies of the complement system and the innate immune system and is funded by the Swedish Research Council and the Swedish Society for Medical Research (SSMF).
The successful candidate will assist in a project investigating endothelial cell–specific expression of complement factors and their role in endothelial cell activation and blood clot formation, using experimental methods as well as publicly available RNA-seq and proteomics datasets. The group’s work is translational, and there are opportunities to validate experimental findings in clinical materials.
The project involves work with advanced cell models and techniques such as CRISPR and lentiviral overexpression of proteins, as well as analytical methods such as flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy. Other tasks in the project include recombinant protein expression and the purification of proteins and antibodies from plasma. The position offers strong opportunities for professional development within biomedical research and serves as an excellent platform for further doctoral studies in the field.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and abilities.
