As a Scientist you will lead a team that supports the preparation of ADCs for external collaborations with biotech/pharma companies. You will drive continuous improvement of existing methods and implement, and standardize new conjugation methodologies transferred from R&D that can be applied in the Bioconjugates team. Key tasks include; planning tracking and reporting of projects (internal/external), communicate progress with customers and other key stakeholders, support and supervise team members where appropriate. In addition you will be responsible for keeping other project related documentation up to date.
What you’ll do:
- Manage (Sr.) Research Associates within the Bioconjugates team, incl performance review, personal development and providing timely constructive feedback;
- Where required support in the execution of customer projects;
- Oversee the planning, coordination and tracking of customer projects;
- Support transfer of new technologies coming from R&D to the Bioconjugates teams for subsequent application in external collaboration projects;
- Proactively seek collaboration and alignment within the Lonza network;
- Ensures delivery of good quality materials to customers within the agreed timelines, specifications and costs;
- Delivery of project-related documentation including project reports, CoTs and other relevant documentation;
- Take on the assigned responsibilities in designated tasks & projects;
- Adhere to company policies and quality & safety standards;
- Perform other duties as assigned and mutually agreed upon.
What we’re looking for:
- PhD in chemical biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering or related fields;
- Minimum 3 years experience with various bioconjugation chemistry techniques and preferably hands-on experience with generating ADCs;
- Acquainted with project management in an operational setting;
- Strong commitment to project deliverables and customer focused;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
- Strong analytical skills (qualitative & quantitative);
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Strong team player mentality and ability to motivate people;
- Experience with various bioconjugation chemistry techniques and preferably hands-on experience with generating ADCs;
- Creative and problem-solving personality;
- Ability to lead, motivate and support a team.
