Beamline Scientist

Your Tasks

  • Commissioning and characterization of a new X-ray source;
  • Conceptual design and integration of the X-ray source into the facility control system;
  • Preparation, execution, and documentation of measurement campaigns (optics, cameras, source), as well as support for data analysis;
  • Responsibility for operating the X-ray test facility (vacuum system, X-ray sources, detectors, and other components);
  • Support of the facility’s IT infrastructure;
  • Communication with our international project partners.

Your Profile

  • Completed university degree in physics, engineering, or a comparable field;
  • Experience with experimental setups, conducting measurements, and evaluating results;
  • Experience in controlling laboratory equipment;
  • Programming skills in common laboratory programming languages (e.g. Python);
  • Initial experience with vacuum technology is an advantage;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Ability to work independently on projects as well as in a team.

Ideally, you enjoy familiarizing yourself with challenging subject areas and already have experience in similar projects.
