Job description

We are looking to recruit a post-doctoral researcher to develop and utilize cell based CRISPR screens to investigate DNA repair genes. The project straddles fundamental research with immediate applications in biotechnology. The project is funded by the Research Foundation- Flanders (FWO).

Responsibilities

  • Vector design and library construction;
  • Design large-scale CRISPR screens;
  • Plant tissue culture and transformation;
  • Amplicon sequencing analysis;
  • Grant and manuscript writing;
  • Guide students and work with technicians.

Profile

Candidates must have a PhD in (Plant) Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or equivalent, ability to critically discuss and present scientific results, and proficiency in English for oral and written communications. Experience with genome editing, bioinformatics (e.g. python, linux) and high-throughput approaches are desirable, but not required.
