The successful candidate will have an outstanding research record in a Materials Science related field and strong commitment to teaching. The post is available from 1 July 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful candidate will present a strong vision for a long-term research programme, building on the Departmental existing capabilities and taking advantage of the unique research environment in Cambridge to build collaborations and deliver new science and applications.
The successful applicant will strengthen and complement existing research fields in the Department.
Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant subject area and show evidence of being able to lead a successful research programme as well as evidence of research leadership (or potential to develop it) and the ability to attract research funding. They must show evidence of enthusiasm and ability to teach a wide range of courses in Materials Science successfully at undergraduate and masters levels.
