Your mission
- Contribution to multidisciplinary teams with own scientific expertise to achieve corporate and customer goals of challenging drug discovery projects within biologics early drug development;
- Establishing and managing research projects as project scientist including independent planning and execution of research projects;
- Development, execution, and optimization of protein productions for downstream applications (fit-for-purpose);
- Characterization and evaluation of drug candidates by state of the art biochemical and biophysical methods;
- Evaluation of new technology/equipment to constantly improve biologics platform;
- Preparation of all relevant project documentation (i.e. project plans, SOPs, scientific presentations, technical reports), their review and training;
- Presentation of the scientific results as well as convincing and confident communication of the content to colleagues, customers, and business partners.
Your profile
- PhD in biochemistry or related field with an excellent proven track record;
- Ideally 1-2 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry regarding the development of protein therapeutics;
- Good acquaintance with transient protein expression in mammalian cell culture, purification process optimization and in-depth physicochemical characterization (i.e. using HPLC methods) of antibody-based candidates;
- Strong acquaintance regarding rational construct design, protein expression (mammalian, insect, bacterial), chromatographic purification techniques, purification process optimization and protein characterization methods;
- Experience with non-antibody-based biologics as asset;
- Hands-on mentality with a problem-solving mindset and attention to details;
- Great interest in scientific project management;
- Experience with industry-standard operational management tools such as LIMS systems;
- Independent, service-oriented way of working, with an outstanding team spirit and excellent organization and communication skills.
