As a Senior Scientist Biochemistry, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Synaffix/Lonza’s R&D agenda focused on best-in-class targeted delivery technologies. You will lead scientific projects, supervise a small team and contribute to innovative solutions in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and other bioconjugates.

What you will do:

• Apply broad expertise in antibody-drug conjugates, bioconjugation, biochemistry, molecular biology, and protein science.
• Design and coordinate ELISA-based assays and functional studies (in vitro/in vivo) for ADCs and bioconjugates, including alternative non-animal models.
• Develop and improve antibody conjugates with diverse mechanisms of action (MOAs).
• Utilize and interpret advanced purification and analytical techniques (e.g., SEC, IEX, affinity chromatography, flow cytometry, SDS-PAGE, RP-UPLC, high-resolution MS).
• Manage projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and adapting plans as needed.
• Supervise, mentor, and inspire team members to achieve high performance.
• Contribute scientific insights to the company’s research strategy and communicate professionally in English.

What we are looking for:

• PhD in Biochemistry or related field.
• 5–10 years in biochemistry or related disciplines with advanced expertise in ADCs and bioconjugation.
• 5–10 years in biotech, pharma, CRO, or CDMO environments.
• Strong proficiency in analytical and purification techniques; experience with ELISA-based assays and functional studies.
• Proven experience in vitro and in vivo evaluation of ADCs.
• Proven ability to supervise and coach team members, strong project management skills.
• English, Dutch is a plus.
