The Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE), located in Garching near Munich, is a world-renowned institute for ground- and space-based experimental astrophysics, playing a leading role in several large astronomical projects. The Infrared/Submillimeter Group conducts front-line research focusing on imaging and spectroscopy of the Galactic Center, and detailed studies of star formation, gas content, physical properties and dynamics of distant galaxies.
The Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) invites applications for a postdoctoral position to join the research group led by Dr. Hannah Übler.
We are looking for candidates with a background in high-redshift galaxy observations. Additional experience in the theoretical modelling of high-redshift galaxies and/or supermassive black holes is welcome. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with data from JWST/NIRSpec programmes, focusing on the physical properties of galaxies in the first few billion years, and their supermassive black holes.
