As a Scientist in QC Physchem Analytical Science, you will support analytical activities essential for clinical development through to the Process Validation stage. Your focus will be on method suitability assessment, validation, verification, and transfer, in alignment with GMP, ICH guidelines, and Lonza’s quality systems. You will contribute to building strong scientific expertise in physical and chemical technologies, with emphasis on pharmacopeia requirements and global harmonization.

What you will do:

  • Drive technical innovation, scientific understanding, and best practices in analytical science;
  • Design and execute experiments, interpret results, and review data related to physical and chemical analytical techniques;
  • Prepare and review validation and transfer protocols, reports, and procedures for physical and chemical test methods;
  • Collect, evaluate, and summarize scientific data to support sound conclusions;
  • Communicate high-quality scientific information effectively to internal teams and external stakeholders;
  • Provide troubleshooting and training support for analytical methods and instrumentation;
  • Collaborate on laboratory process optimization and implement corrective actions;
  • Lead and support laboratory investigations, change requests, and CAPA implementation;
  • Participate in on-call service to ensure timely completion of critical physical and chemical analyses;
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for physical and chemical analytical techniques.

What we are looking for:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biology);
  • First relevant experience (3-5 years), preferably in the pharmaceutical industry;
  • Strong expertise in analytical techniques, particularly physical and chemical methods;
  • Experience in method validation is highly desirable;
  • Solid understanding of GMP regulations and data integrity principles;
  • Motivated to stay current with scientific advancements and identify opportunities for innovation;
  • Proactive and collaborative, with strong problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in English is required. German is advantagous.
