Mercor is hiring experienced Biology professionals to join an exciting collaboration with a top AI research lab. This role involves contributing to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems designed to replicate real-world workflows across life sciences, biomedical research, and related domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate Biology outputs produced by AI systems for quality, accuracy, and alignment with scientific objectives;
• Create challenging problems in Biology that stress-test AI reasoning and analysis;
• Contribute to data generation and evaluation processes that inform the next generation of large language models.

Ideal Qualifications

• PhD in Biology or a directly related field from a top university;
• Undergraduate degree completed in the U.S., UK, Canada, or Europe preferred;
• 2+ years of academic experience (research, publication, teaching) or professional experience;
• High attention to detail and exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
• Excellent proficiency in English.

Project Timeline

• Start Date: August (ongoing with rolling applications);
• Duration: 1–2 months;
• Commitment: 10–20 hours/week (potential to extend to 40 hours/week);
• Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous - flexible working hours.

Compensation & Contract

• Competitive hourly rate of $65–85 USD/hr;
• Top performers receive weekly bonus incentives ranging from $20–100/hr on top of their pay rate;
• Independent contractor;
• Weekly payment via Stripe Connect.
