Your key responsibilities

  • Operation of the AMBR250 automated fermenter system, as well as conventional 2 Liter benchtop fermenters and 20 Liter in situ autoclavable bioreactors;
  • Daily tasks such as inoculum preparation, medium preparation, sterilization, sampling, sample preparation and analysis, process monitoring and control, maintenance and cleaning of equipment;
  • Planning, execution, data analysis and reporting of fermentation experiments and presentation of results within the R&D organization;
  • Batch documentation and data handling according to current best practice;
  • Using and developing recipe control of the Sartorius platform MFCS/win and the AMBR computer control system;
  • Ad hoc tasks such as preparation of cell banks, shake flask tests, contamination testing, microtiter cultivations;
  • Regular review and continuous improvement of our methods, experimental set-up and workflows within and between the different R&D groups;
  • Operation according to current quality, environmental, occupational health and safety procedures and instructions.

You bring

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate holds a MSc/BSc degree within biotechnology, biochemical engineering or a related field and has experience with microbial fermentations. Alternatively, you are a trained laboratory technician with several years of relevant industrial experience;
  • You are familiar with aseptic work and have experience working with microbial cultures in a modern laboratory;
  • You speak and write English fluently;
  • It is an advantage if you have experience with the operation of advanced laboratory fermentation systems and have skills in monitoring, control and analysis of microbial fermentations.
