The Research Unit «Snow and Atmosphere» investigates snow and its interactions with the hydro- und atmosphere across different scales, with the aim to improve our understanding of the role of snow in the climate system. We are looking for a Group Leader „Snow Physics“ 80-100% (f/m/d).
The group «Snow Physics,» with its long tradition of world-leading research on the physical properties of snow and ice,is looking for new leadership.Your role will be high-level research and scientific leadership, funding acquisition, and coordination of the group’s projects and activities. You will also be responsible for SLF’s cold laboratories and the instruments therein.
You have an excellent track record in snow science, specifically snow physics, a proven record of successful funding acquisition, and experience leading national or international science projects. Besides your enthusiasm for combining theoretical concepts and modelling with field and laboratory measurements of snow and firn, you are an innovative thinker with a broad international collaboration network and a dedicated and supportive leader. You have a clear vision of how to advance the field of snow physics and promote its practical application across a range of relevant sectors.
