The selected candidate will be employed in the position University teacher - assistant professor (D019008) OR University teacher - associate professor (D019007) OR University teacher - full professor (D019006), depending on the habilitation title obtained.

Conditions for the position:

• Required education/level and area: doctoral degree (PhD) in Veterinary Medicine;
• Valid habilitation of Veterinary medicine;
• The candidate fulfils the condition if he/she has a valid UL title or the valid title of the Guest teacher at UL. If, at the time of application, the candidate does not have an election to the abovementioned titles, but he/she meets the qualitative and quantitative conditions for election to these titles, he/she can apply for the job vacancy, in which case, together with the application, he/she shall also provide evidence of compliance with the above criteria, accompanied by a statement , in the event of a decision by the selection committee, the application shall also be considered as an application for election to the title or for the recognition of the equivalence of the title;
• Good organizational skills;
• Communicational skills;
• Innovative approach;
• B2 knowledge of Slovenian according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which is proven by a certificate. If a foreign national does not meet this requirement when occupying the position, they shall meet it no later than within three years after employment;
• Active knowledge of English language.

Job description:

General description:

• Designing and updating of curriculum and adaptation of university and higher education study programmes;
• organization and co-organization of all activities relevant to the execution of study courses in accordance with curriculums and developments in the professional field, coordination of work and control over the work of other teaching staff (assistants, technical and other staff);
• lectures for students, conduction of seminars and other pedagogical activities on the subject at undergraduate and post-graduate study programmes;
• organisation, assessment and correction of exam tasks and tests;
• guidance of research work and other study activities of students and mentoring for students in their seminary papers, diploma thesis and other work;
• scientific research work, investigation and development of concepts, theories and methods;
• care for safe and healthy work of the employees and students in the unit, for adequate education and instructions to users of personal protection equipment and other safety measures;
• cooperation at other tasks from the wider professional area of the job.

When selecting a candidate, following criteria will be taken into account:

• the quality of teaching and mentoring work at all levels of study;
• demonstrated knowledge of genetics;
• the success of research work in the field of genetics;
• experience in implementation of research projects;
• demonstrated inter-institutional and international cooperation;
• management and organizational experience.
