Just Evotec Biologics EU is seeking a motivated and creative Scientist, who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. As a key member of the Mass Spectrometry group, you will possess skills in LC-MS/MS method development, mAbs and biosimilar characterization.

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist II for laboratory work and MS projects responsibility. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of regulatory-ready bioanalytical methods for characterization of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communications skills, excellent organizational skills and works well in teams.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and perform large molecule analytical and characterization assays, including identity testing by intact mass and/or subunit analysis, glycan profiling, primary structure and PTM analysis by peptide mapping.
• Perform routine sample preparation, injections, acquire LC-MS data, analyze data, draft report and document experiment in ELN to support process development.
• Perform routine maintenance of HPLC and MS systems, prepare mobile phases, execute calibration and cleaning procedures, coordinate regular preventative maintenance troubleshooting.
• Author technical documents including analytical methods, standard operating procedures, qualification reports, and technical reports
• Independent planning, execution, evaluation and compliant documentation of experiments
• Participate to project meetings
• Uphold Health and Safety standards, including personal protection and laboratory maintenance.

Requirements:

• MSc 5+ years experience, or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
• Experience in analytical method development for identification and quantification using mass spectrometry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred qualifications:

• Expertise with Orbitrap MS and Q-ToF MS (Exploris 240 or XevoG3)
• Experience with Xcalibur, BioPharma Finder, Protein Metrics, Unifi, and Genedata
• Biosimilar experience
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
• Good written and verbal French & English communication skills
• Desire to work in a fast, collaborative, team-oriented environment
