Applications are invited for the post of Research Fellow in the School of Chemistry. The research project is part of an exciting multi-disciplinary collaboration involving academia and industry focusing on the use QM/MM simulations to study targeted covalent inhibition and approaches to accelerate quantum chemistry calculations on quantum computers.

Main responsibilities

  • Research activities: use QM/MM simulations to study targeted covalent inhibition and investigate approaches to accelerate quantum chemistry calculations on quantum computers.
  • Prepare high quality papers for publication in leading peerreviewed journals.
  • Give presentations internally at group meetings and externally at conferences
  • Identify and develop opportunities for research grant funding proposals.
  • Provide support, guidance, and co-supervision to undergraduate and/or postgraduate research students
  • Any other duties appropriate to the grade and role of the post holder as necessary.

Candidates should have a PhD in computational chemistry and they should have a strong background in QM/MM simulation, quantum chemistry and quantum computing.
