We are seeking a highly motivated Molecular Biology Analyst to join our laboratory team. This role involves hands-on work in the lab with a focus on executing nucleic acid sequencing experiments and supporting equipment validation activities. The successful candidate will work with state-of-the-art technologies, including Illumina and Oxford Nanopore platforms, to contribute to the characterization of nucleic acid-based products such as mRNA and plasmid DNA. This position requires a strong foundation in molecular biology techniques, analytical thinking, and collaborative communication.

Laboratory Operations – Nucleic Acid Sequencing (>50% bench work):

  • Plan and execute nucleic acid sequencing experiments using Illumina and Oxford Nanopore technologies.
  • Perform analytical methods for the characterization of mRNA and plasmid DNA.
  • Analyse and interpret experimental data; prepare clear, concise reports and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to training requirements as defined in the training matrix.

Equipment and System Validation:

  • Contribute to the validation of sequencing platforms by supporting designing and executing Computerized System Validation (CSV) processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the CSV, data management, and IT integration teams to generate high-quality validation documentation.
  • Assist in integrating new sequencing technologies into routine workflows while maintaining regulatory and quality standards.
  • Participation in the performance qualification (PQ) of the CSV process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms, particularly Illumina and Oxford Nanopore.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, quantification, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and bioinformatics tools for sequencing data is an advantage.
  • Experience in equipment qualification or computerized system validation (CSV) is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is a must. French is nice to have.
