As a global Flavourist in our Science & Technology group, your main focus will be to innovate in flavour creation for the culinary and protein categories. You will be expected to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute on culinary and protein category research projects according to prioritization;
- Evaluate materials developed internally or from external sources and assess potential for flavour creation;
- Formulate flavours with new technologies to meet project requirements for culinary and savoury applications that meet defined project needs, including success criteria, regulatory compliance, cost, production requirements;
- Support regions and customers on innovation and technologies;
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EHS policies;
- Connect with regional flavourists and other function;
- Takes responsibility to build an inclusive environment and leverages differences in styles, thinking and approaches.
Success Profile
- 15+ year experience as a Savoury Flavourist after completion of an industry standard flavourist training program;
- PhD or Master Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, and any experience in a food applications lab, production or related area;
- Knowledge of Maillard chemistry and processed flavours;
- Demonstrated mastery in flavour creation, salt and umami taste, processed flavours and flavour science;
- Demonstrates expert level tasting skills and flavour creation;
- Expert level of raw materials and flavor ingredients knowledge;
- Expert ability to formulate selected flavour types to deliver flavour performance for problem solving processes, research and development needs, etc.;
- Expert level knowledge of global regulatory requirements for flavours;
- Excellent communication and presentations skills;
- Expert level knowledge of analytical methodologies (G.C. HPLC, Mass Spec.).
