We are seeking an outstanding, highly motivated advanced scientist in molecular biology and neuroscience for projects on gene regulation and gene regulatory networks with a view to developing innovative treatments for hearing impairments.
The postdoctoral fellow will work on projects aiming to decipher the molecular mechanisms regulating the expression of genes with key roles in the auditory system. The cell-specific expression of therapeutic genes or the editing of pathogenic variants with viral or non-viral vectors is a major challenge in inner ear gene therapy. The characterization of gene regulatory elements and gene regulatory networks is essential for this purpose.
The candidate will use computational methods to develop and integrate novel transcriptomic analyses (RNA-sequencing, 10X genomics) and epigenetic signatures (DNA methylation, chromatin accessibility, ChIP-sequencing, and Hi-C conformation capture techniques) for the genes involved in hearing and deafness.
