Here at dsm-firmenich we are looking for a Scientist/ Senior Scientist for our R&D Beauty & Care Skin Activities, Applied Sciences team. As our Scientist, you will support the claims of our skin active ingredients and vitamins portfolio with a solid scientific rational and will contribute to our unique competences for developing and launching new solutions.

Your key responsibilities:

• Designs, plans and execution scientific concepts to defend and grow the skin actives and vitamins portfolio;
• Collaborates with marketing and sales teams to provide multiple level R&D support;
• Lead R&D projects within the biology applied science group of Beauty and Care;
• Generates new scientific data packages for the claim substantiation of our product portfolio (skin actives, hair actives, vitamins);
• Designs, coordinates and executes scientific studies of in vitro biology and in vivo efficacy to achieve aligned product claims. Contribute to customized clinical studies;
• Represent R&D in multidisciplinary teams;
• Write claim substantiation reports and publications, prepare presentations and participate at trade shows;
• Supporting the regional teams as an R&D expert in customized projects and at customer visits;
• Interact with global and regional business teams, provide scientific support and training;
• Answer to technical product related questions.

You bring:

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related field;
• Experience and solid expertise in biological sciences with passion and creativity in scientific research;
• Specific background knowledge in skin biology is an advantage;
• Motivated and business goal-oriented person with ability to operate in cross-functional environment;
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills;
• Good command of English, both spoken and written, German language would be an asset.
