The opportunity - Shape your influential role

In our state-of-the-art laboratory, you will investigate and optimize innovative materials and manufacturing processes for industrial applications. In this role, you will be responsible for adapting material properties, carrying out analyses and developing technical solutions that meet the highest industrial standards. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams and external partners from science and industry. We are looking for an engineer who will use their specialist knowledge and creative approaches to further develop our materials technologies and set new standards in materials research:

Analysis and redesign of materials:

  • Investigation and adaptation of material properties to ensure chemical stability, mechanical strength and electrical performance.
  • Carrying out material analyses (e.g. microscopic and spectroscopic methods, thermal analyses).

Solution-oriented and independent project work:

  • Planning, implementation and supervision of research and development projects with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Documentation of project results and preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Support in scaling up laboratory concepts to pilot scale.

Cooperation with external partners:

  • Coordination of development projects in cooperation with academic and industrial partners.
  • Active participation in external networks, project meetings and conferences.

Development of technical products:

  • Optimization of the manufacturing process for glass-ceramic electrodes.
  • Development of solutions for industrial applications, taking into account economic and technical requirements.

Leadership of teams:

  • Management of an interdisciplinary team consisting of materials scientists, engineers and technicians.
  • Organization and monitoring of departmental tasks, project goals and milestones.
  • Promoting cooperation and knowledge sharing within the team.

Your profile - face challenges and develop yourself further

  • Engineering degree in materials science in the field of ceramics, glass, refractories, binders, etc.
  • Several years of industry experience, ideally more than 5 years.
  • Experience in industrial glass melting processes.
  • Experience and knowledge in the field of mechanical and thermal process engineering.
  • Practical experience with refractory materials and glass melting.
  • Personal responsibility: ability to start and drive forward projects independently.
