Postdoctoral Researcher for Interphases in Na-based Batteries and Capacitors (MSCA)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
CIC energiGUNE is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on understanding and improving interphases for sodium batteries and capacitors in the framework of an individual MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Job functions:
- Probe the stability and integrity of solid electrolyte interphases in Na-based systems with conventional and non-conventional electrolytes and additives under different electrochemical routines;
- Conduct chemical and morphological analysis of electrode interphase using surface analysis techniques;
- Characterize materials and interphases by complementary physicochemical characterization methods whenever appropriate;
- Analyze and generalize characterization results, give conclusions, and provide ideas to improve interphases;
- Disseminate project results through high-impact publications.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- PhD in Materials science, chemistry, physics, and related fields. Doctors of Engineering with specialization in interphases and/or electrochemistry are also welcome;
- Solid background in surface science and physicochemical characterization and willingness to apply his/her knowledge to electrochemical energy storage;
- Prior experience in electroanalytical characterization;
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
The following additional experience and skills will be highly valued:
- Expertise in surface science techniques such as XPS, AFM, Raman, etc...;
- Expertise in Metal ion batteries and/or Supercapacitors;
- Experience in technique-specific cell development;
- A team player who can collaborate with other groups, technical centers, and industries.
