Duties and responsibilities

• High-quality research work in innovative methods of machine learning, under the guidance of the research group leader;
• Active participation in the research project as a team member of the project;
• Writing and submitting scientific papers to high-impact journals of the field;
• Presenting research findings at high-level conferences in the field;
• Preparing new research projects, under the guidance of more experienced colleagues;
• Participating in teaching activities, including supervision of MSc and PhD students;
• Participation in the decision-making bodies of the university.

Required qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.

Required experience

• Research work in machine learning at the international level in the volume of at least one PhD thesis;
• Very good programming skills in Python and experience with using machine learning frameworks;
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams;
• Experience in supervising MSc and PhD students is recommended.

Required language skills

Excellent command of the English language. The Estonian language is recommended but not required. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. This requirement will be added to the contract. The Centre for Professional Development offers foreigners and their family members the opportunity to participate in Estonian language courses.
