Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct and lead research in the field of computational neuroscience/AI. In particular, in the field of spatial representations and navigation in biological and artificial networks;
- Write scientific articles related to the research field;
- Program and publish software related to the research field;
- Supervise PhD, MSc, BSc in the field of computational neuroscience/AI;
- Teaching courses and seminars related to the field of computational neuroscience, cognitive science, and AI;
- Engage in popularisation activities of the field of research and science in general.
Required qualifications
- PhD in physics, mathematics, or computer science or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
- More than 3 years of postdoc experience; demonstrated research experience in computational neuroscience/AI, focusing on modeling and analyzing spatial representations in biological and artificial neural networks;
- Teaching experience in courses or seminars at university level in the field of computational neuroscience, cognitive science, or AI.
Required language skills
Excellent command of English. Estonian is an advantage. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. This requirement will be added to the contract. The Centre for Professional Development offers foreigners and their family members the opportunity to participate in Estonian language courses.
