For this position, we are seeking a highly qualifiedand scientifically well-established individual with a proven track record in research and teaching in the field Particle Engineering & Solids Processing. The focus should be on experimental and/or model-based approaches for particle engineering and processing, e.g., in the fields of pharmaceutical technology, materials for environmental technology applications, process engineering and characterization of fiber-based materials and formulation/particle design. Other potential areas can be analytical technology for particulate systems and advanced methods for particle engineering.

Ideally, the expertise of the applicants should comprise experimental and/or model-based approaches in one of the field of solids processing and particle technology (from nano to macroscopic), fine chemistry, building materials, pharmaceutical technology, environmental technology applications, process engineering and characterization of fiber-based materials, formulation/particle design, as well as particle measurement technology & analytics. A focus on design, optimization and control of processes would be desirable (process engineering focus).

Close collaboration with Institutes and research centers at TU Graz (e.g., FoEs & Comet Competence Centers) as well as with NAWI Graz and BioTechMed Graz is expected.

In teaching, the aim is to contribute to the area of mechanical process engineering and to introduce new aspects into research-based teaching in the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs.

Employment Requirements

  • Relevant university education with a completed doctorate (PhD).
  • Outstanding and independent academic qualifications in research, preferably demonstrated by a habilitation (venia docendi) or equivalent academic achievements.
  • Proven didactic skills for adequate implementation of teaching at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels.
  • Leadership skills (strategy, personnel and process development).

Selection Criteria

  • Experience in the acquisition and execution of third-party funded application or contract research projects, or relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate within and outside of the university.
  • Competence in the area of ​​gender and diversity and knowledge of the special needs of disabled people.
