Just Evotec Biologics EU is seeking a motivated Scientist, who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. The new scientist will join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the Mass Spectrometry group, you will possess skills in LC-MS/MS method development, mAbs and biosimilar characterization.
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist I for laboratory work. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of regulatory-ready bioanalytical methods for characterization of monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communications skills, excellent organizational skills and works well in teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and perform large molecule analytical and characterization assays under the supervision of senior scientists, including identity testing by intact mass and/or subunit analysis, glycan profiling, primary structure and PTM analysis by peptide mapping;
- Perform routine sample preparation, injections, acquire LC-MS data, analyze data, draft report and document experiment in ELN to support process development;
- Perform routine maintenance of HPLC and MS systems, prepare mobile phases, execute calibration and cleaning procedures, coordinate regular preventative maintenance troubleshooting under the supervision of senior scientists;
- Author technical documents including analytical methods, standard operating procedures, qualification reports, and technical reports;
- Manage sample receiving, testing and storage, maintain and track consumables including columns, buffer solutions, enzymes and chemicals;
- Track and document assay performance;
- Present scientific data to analytical department and cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- BSc +10 years’ experience, or MSc 0-5 years of experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field;
- Experience in analytical method development for identification and quantification using mass spectrometry;
- Good knowledge and demonstrated ability working with large molecule separation methods including reversed-phase HPLC, SEC or HILIC;
- Solid understanding of mass spectrometry operating principles, including ionization, ion transfer, gas-phase fragmentation, and mass analyzers is a plus.
Preferred qualifications:
- Expertise with Orbitrap MS and Q-ToF MS (Exploris 240 or XevoG3);
- Experience with Byos software;
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness;
- Good written and verbal French & English communication skills;
- Desire to work in a fast, collaborative, team-oriented environment.
