Job Description

Autonomous Systems & Robots (ASR) Group is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to lead and conduct research in development of AI-driven robotics solution capable of autonomous decision-making and tasks execution. He/she is expected to be independent and initiative-driven, demonstrating the capacity to discover innovative solutions to challenges.

Roles & responsibilities

• Research into novel human-centric framework for robotic task learning and optimization;
• Work with a team of scientists and engineers to develop and enhance different machine learning techniques/models to advance robot manipulation capabilities for industry manufacturing processes;
• Formulate scientific research directions and innovative proposals to secure competitive funding;
• Understand the latest trend in manufacturing domain (e.g., Industry 5.0) and provide innovative solutions to industry problems in this area.

Job Requirements

• PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or other relevant disciplines with emphasis on optimization, machine learning and AI;
• Preferably 1 year experience in research of R&D projects;
• Deep understanding of robot manipulation and kinematics;
• Proficient programming/coding skills in developing optimization and machine learning algorithms;
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, good team player with good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent technical presentation and writing skills;
• Proactive team player and technically motivated to solve problems innovatively.
