Post-doc - Computational Visual Neuroscience
EPFL - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne
Geneva, Switzerland
Mission
The research focus of this postdoc is centered on advancing the development of a novel neuroadaptive training platform for patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Research will focus on:
- Developping new computational modelling frameworks for rapidly time-varying functional networks in late sensory and non-sensory cortex
- Developping a closed-loop platform for biofeedback-influenced video-viewing
We seek outstanding candidates working in cognitive neuroscience, systems engineering, physics, machine learning or data-science with interests in broadly advancing the treatment of neurological disorders.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Working and collaborating on research projects. The precise research topic(s) will be discussed with the successful candidate depending on their background, expertise and affinities.
- Analysis and publication of results
- Build a strong network in the field of research
- Participate in education, and PhD and master student supervision
- Collaboration with an industrial partner in the healthcare technology/AI field.
Profile
- PhD (or nearing completion of) in systems, computational, or cognitive neuroscience
- Background in visual neuroscience and advanced signal processing
- Research experience in M/EEG
- Strong computational and analytical skills.
- Experimental skills and experience in analyzing neuroimaging data
- Publication record (relative to your career stage) in internationally leading journals
- Independent, creative, and solution-oriented
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
