An exciting opportunity has arisen for an academic post in human genetics/genomics. The post holder will be focused primarily on the development and delivery of the new online PgCert Genomic Medicine. Experience in distance learning is therefore essential. In addition, they will be expected to deliver teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students, primarily on the BSc Biomedical Science and face-to-face MSc Genomic Medicine programmes.

Applicants must hold a first degree and PhD in genetics/genomics, have familiarity with the UK HE system, and demonstrate the ability to contribute to academic activity across biomedical sciences and human genomics.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to design and deliver a 10-minute presentation aimed at PG Level 7 in human genetics/genomics.

Key attributes of the successful applicant (no more than 50 words) include:

  • Successful track record in teaching genomics at level 7;
  • Accurate worker and high attention to detail including when under pressure;
  • Passion for delivering a great student experience;
  • High level of prioritisation and organisation to manage a high volume of work and priorities effectively;
  • Strong organisational, time-management and communication skills.
