Our research group, funded by the ERC and the RCF, investigates microbial ecology in the human gut using an interdisciplinary approach, combining culture-based microbiology and modern multiomics with bioinformatics and analytical methods from population ecology. The position of postdoctoral researcher involves mathematical and statistical modelling of microbial genomic and metagenomic data as well as microbial population time series data.
The candidate should have an PhD degree in (bio)mathematics, (bio)statistics, ecology, or other suitable field and experience in statistical (incl. Bayesian) and mathematical modelling. Experience in bioinformatics, population ecology or population genetics is seen as an advantage. We are looking for a highly motivated and independent researcher able to work collaboratively in a team and adjust to different types of tasks throughout the project.
