Mission
A 2-year postdoc position is available at the Laboratory of Astrophysics (LASTRO) of the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. The position is within the domain of experimental astroparticle physics.
Main duties and responsibilities
A motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher will be recruited for a joint French-Swiss project on the development of a novel water-cherenkov detector array prototype for the study of cosmic electrons and gamma rays, to be deployed in an alpine lake. The research will include participation in detector deployment, operation and data taking as well as simulaitons and data analysis.
Profile
- A formal requirement for the position is a PhD in physics/astrophysics.
- A background in astrophysics and experimental astroparticle physics is necessary.
- Good programming skills in python, C++ and/or similar would be very beneficiary.
- Working knowledge of English is required.
