Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) is recruiting a scientist/senior scientist to join our plant production research group. The person will work with wide range of crop production projects. The main focus is in developing sustainable, resilient and multifunctional crop production systems. We at Luke aim to provide solutions to safeguard biodiversity and resilient ecosystem services including food, feed and biomaterial production for the future bioeconomy. Additionally, publishing research results in peer reviewed journals and having focal role in national and international grant applications and project management. The person is expected to work as a team member together with other researchers in plant production group in close collaboration with researchers of plant health and soil science groups as well as agricultural stakeholders and customers.
The applicant should have a doctoral degree in agronomy, crop science, or in a similar field. The applicant is expected to have experience on field crop production research, primarily in boreal or at least in temperate growing condition. Research experience in agroecology, climate change and environmental sustainability is an advantage for the applicant. Established national and/or EU level research collaboration and multidisciplinary networks are appreciated. Good ability to apply national and international research funding and managing research projects is valued. Track record on scientific publishing is appreciated and dissemination of research results to a variety of stakeholders, including relevant policymakers, business actors and citizens is valued. The applicant should possess good collaboration and communication skills as well as good oral and written English skills.
